One of the coolest things to me about being strong and healthy and confident is that I am able to see, much more clearly than ever before, what it is that makes me awesome.
How much more powerful would your world be if you really embodied and owned all that make you unique? Both the ‘good’ and the ‘bad’ – all of your strengths and quirks and shadows make you you. Shedding light on them and putting them out there is going to make your work and value skyrocket.
Day 12 of the 30 Day Blog Challenge asks, What is your USP (Unique Special Proposition) that sets you apart from the crowd?
I, Kate Marolt, work with artists and entrepreneurs feeling creatively stuck get strong and healthy in their bodies so they can worry less and play more- in their bodies, in their imaginations, in their businesses, art, and lives.
Natalie offered a series of questions to help gain clarity on your USP, and while I already ‘know’ mine, answering these questions was a fabulous way to dive into why and gain greater clarity on who exactly I am and why I am the best person for the job. Here goes!
What are you better at than anyone else?
I am particularly awesome at gently nudging people to get uncomfortable and be honest with themselves about their beliefs and emotions. I am great at holding nonjudgmental space for people to play, experiment, and push themselves in a way that both acknowledges fear, discomfort, and uncertainty and celebrates awkwardness, failure, and silliness along the way.
I am also a rockstar at pulling energy from seemingly nowhere- my super power is boundless enthusiasm!
What do you enjoy doing the most?
Playing and exploring! I love connecting to my body, being outside, and finding the adventure in the every day. I also really enjoy actively using my imagination and playing games to stimulate creativity and possibility.
What do (or could) you provide that no one else is providing?
I provide a worldview of possibility coupled with a deep understanding of our bodies and the way energy moves. I don’t have all the answers, or specific formulas, and I prefer it that way- every person, every body is different, and I give you more than just a workout or yoga class- I am teaching you to connect your mind and body in a way that energizes all areas of your life- particularly creatively.
What annoys people the most about your industry or blog area?
Too many quick fixes that don’t provide real helpful answers. People think yoga teachers are a dime a dozen nowadays, and a lot of ‘fitness blogs’ all talk about the same things. Courses on creativity tend to feel very fluffy and woo-woo, whereas exercise and nutrition programs don’t address bigger issues or environmental impacts.
What is remarkable about you?
I make shit happen. I say yes to adventures and when my heart is called to something, I actually do it. I also can see and feel energy- this allows me to understand subtleties and shifts within other people and within environments, as well as to direct it as needed. I also will find the opportunity in every single situation.
Do you have an unusual combination of elements?
Yes. I am a graphic designer and artist by schooling, and have experience in marketing and copywriting. These give me a unique way of seeing the world, because I am always seeking out the best ways to communicate and convey emotion and expression. It also helps me work with artists and entrepreneurs, because I know what they are trying to do.
I am also a yoga teacher and adult gymnastics trainer, and have gotten certifications in + have experience teaching spin, barre, kettle bells, TRX, nutrition, and all sorts of combinations of them all.
I know how to change bodies, and I know how to change minds. Having gone through it myself, I understand the power of having the two work together.
Do you have a big personality?
Not sure if a BIG personality, as in LOUD or over the top, but I have a very consistent personality! I know who I am, what I like, and people come to me all the time for doses of smiles, hugs, and good vibes!
As I said, I already had a USP, but these questions were really fun to fill out! The more we know about ourselves, and more confidence we have in talking about ourselves in a positive life, the more fun we are all going to have!
So what makes YOU remarkable? How do YOU stand out from the rest of the world?
