Today I want to share something with you that is pretty uncomfortable for me. If you know my story, you know I’ve had experience with depression, anxiety, and a large amount of disliking myself in the past.

And I’ve always been okay with sharing that- so long as it was in the past.

This past fall, I found myself struggling to get out of bed, having no motivation to do anything, and consistently woke up in the middle of the night in a panic. It sucked.

But the worst part about it? That little voice in my head that kept saying, “you should be better than this by now.”

I fell back on old patterns of hiding where I was at- I still felt like if people could see me then, not traveling the world and having adventures but more like it was a victory if I took a shower before 4pm, then everything would fall part.

At one point I even posted this photo to Instagram with the caption “Generally as a rule I don’t work in bed… today it was just one of those days. More productive in pajamas!”  to make it seem like I was having a great time. (I wasn’t.)

So, why am I telling you all of this?

Well, a couple reasons.

First, I know that many of you have had experience with depression or anxiety, and I want you to know it’s okay. You’re not alone. I see you, and I love you.

Second, while I was in the middle of all of this, I had my two most financially successful months ever in business- surpassing an amount that always felt out of reach for me and reaching a goal I had had for a long

And you know what? I honestly couldn’t care less. I barely even noticed. It wasn’t even worth celebrating, because I felt like shit.

I was reminded again that success and fulfillment have pretty much nothing to do with anything outside of ourselves, and that it doesn’t matter how much you accomplish or create if you don’t feel like YOU when you do it.

Luckily, once I realized this, I was able to slowly reinstate my rituals and practices that brought me back to a place of feeling how I wanted to feel and being who I wanted to be. And I’ll be honest- for awhile there, it didn’t feel easy. But it did really solidify to me that feeling like ME- feeling energized, alive, excited- is the absolute most important thing for my body, my business, and my life.

Because operating from a place of grace, a place of power, a place of magic- this is only possible if I feel like ME.

The same goes for you. Do you pay attention to how you feel when you wake up in the morning? Do you have support and practices in place that allow you to operate at the highest, most fully magical level of you?

I made this video for you as a reminder that feeling like YOU is the most important thing- and what you can do every morning to bring your magic into the game.

Enjoy, and please- allow yourself and the unique energy of you to be your number one priority. Because from that place? You can love, live, and have the impact you desire in this world, completely free to be YOU.
